With the Sygic GPS Navigation app you can record what’s happening on the road ahead of you. You can share videos with your friends or use the footage as evidence in case of an accident. Dashcam records video even while you are navigating and automatically saves video in case of a crash.
There is no need to spend money for a dashboard camera or any other additional device, your phone and our navigation app are perfectly capable of doing the job. And you don´t have to worry about the storage, Sygic GPS Navigation only saves the recording after a simple tap on the screen. Just turn the Dashcam on and save the video in case you need it.
If you're unlucky enough to be involved in a car accident, the Sygic navigation app will save the video automatically. This happens when the app detects a sudden change of speed through the device's accelerometer, which can indicate a collision or other incident. In case of using the video as evidence, information about GPS coordinates, current speed, date and time are written into the meta-data of the video, so there will be no doubts about the authenticity of recordings.
Dashcam includes these features:
- Autosave on the crash, when the smartphone accelerometer detects a high G-force event
- Automatic recording when you exceed the speed of 25km/h
- Video overlay showing date, time, speed and street name (only iOS)
- Sound recording
- Advanced settings for video quality and video duration
How to turn the Dashcam on/off
Enter the Quick menu and tap on the Dashcam icon. Hit the Rec button to start recording. The camera will start recording and the REC icon will be flashing on the map while navigating. To stop recording, tap the REC icon and then the Stop button. You will be asked if you want to save the video. If you choose to save the video, a video recording of the last five minutes of the drive will be saved to your phone gallery.
