QR code hack with custom Sygic URL intents

Delivery drivers and field workers often use handheld devices able to scan barcodes and QR codes of whatever use. Here below a little hack with Sygic Professional Navigation (made up by one of our clients) to make life for the driver easier when it comes to vehicle settings or specific map download.

This easy method can be used to simply set some of the required parameters by reading QR code, placed e.g. on a dashboard or on a vehicle information card.

The potential use of this method can be seen in various ways, for instance in:

• Setting vehicle profiles (Van, Delivery Truck, Heavy Weight Truck)
• Setting vehicle dimensions (useful when the same device is being used on multiple vehicles)
• Opening custom webpages
• Triggering map updates
