The new generation of Car Navigation has introduced significant changes under-the-hood and added new and improved safety features enhancing the in-dash navigation experience
Sygic, trusted by more than 200-million drivers, has showcased a brand new concept of Car Navigation design at CES 2019. The new design minimizes driver distraction, offers more customization options for OEM customers, provides an even better user experience, and offers improved readability across all types of built-in displays in cars. The new features include full-text search, Real-Time Traffic, and Predictive Routing.
“We have listened to our community of drivers, and we feel that it is time for a change. The new design and all the new and improved features bring a completely new experience to the in-dash navigation experience,” said Francisc Juras, Product Manager & Head of Automotive R&D.
With the new version of Sygic Car Navigation, the company has also introduced Smart Device Link (SDL) and software development kit(SDK). It provides developers with comprehensive mapping tools for designing apps based on geolocation or maps.
“Our SDK is map agnostic, what means it is not dependent on any map provider. Developers are free to create amazing apps with full offline capabilities, using routing and optimization and of course getting the advantage of car connectivity,” explained Juras. “Sygic is one of the only navigation companies that supports all currently available car connectivity standards, including CarPlay, MirrorLink, or Smart Device Link,” Juras added.
Sygic representatives will show off the new version of Sygic Car Navigation at Livio booth 3702 in the North Hall and in Automotive Grade Linux (AGL) booth 1614 in the Westgate Hotel Pavilion. The space at CES 2019 is bringing together automakers, suppliers and technology companies, including Panasonic, Amazon Alexa, LGE or Toyota. The new concept of Sygic Car Navigation will be officially released later this year (2019).
