Sygic, a leading global navigation innovator, has recently unveiled a range of new features in its Sygic GPS Navigation, enhancing the already impressive suite of practical functionalities and services available to drivers. With cutting-edge navigation technologies, summer explorations of unfamiliar destinations can now be comfortable and safe, providing users with a seamless and enjoyable travel experience.
Begin with the Fundamentals: Maps
Before embarking on a journey to a new location, Sygic recommends to allow map updates of all the relevant countries along a planned route to take full advantage of Sygic's impressive feature of offline maps, which can be accessed from anywhere. All users, including those with a free license, received the latest map update in May, with the next update scheduled for September. Premium and Premium+ users enjoy the convenience of monthly map updates. The map interface boasts stunning 3D buildings and an enhanced design with contrasting colors, essential to Sygic's exceptional user experience.
Saving Money and Time
When mapping out a route in the navigation system, drivers can customize their preferences, such as avoiding highways, toll roads, or restricted city zones, and select the fastest, shortest, or most cost-effective route. Furthermore, the map now displays the updated fuel prices, imported from the Fuelio app (by Sygic), directly at fuel stations. As part of the free features offered by Sygic GPS Navigation, there is an EV mode available, providing access to over 400,000 charging points and allowing users to make payments for charging through the app.
Android Auto and CarPlay Compatibility
The most convenient and secure method of utilizing Sygic GPS Navigation is through Android Auto or CarPlay, seamlessly mirroring the app onto a larger car screen and integrating it with the vehicle's sound system. Over the past few months, Sygic has implemented numerous enhancements to the user interface, further improving the intuitiveness and safety of navigating through the car display. The map can be zoomed in and out by touch, and points of interest are now better organized for easy visibility.
Avoid Distracted Driving
In addition to navigating through the car display, the co-driver can add additional waypoints via phone screen while on the journey. Alternatively, the phone can be utilized as a dashcam or a head-up display without causing distractions while driving. "Dashcam recordings can provide invaluable evidence for proving collisions or incidents on the road. Additionally, the head-up display is an excellent companion during long night drives, significantly reducing the time a driver's eyes are diverted from the road. This feature is the least distracting navigation alternative, ensuring drivers can stay focused on their journey while benefiting from the main visual instructions," Lukas Dermek, Head of Product at Sygic explained their long-term ambition to integrate innovations that increase road safety.
Universal Support in Unknown Places
When traveling to unfamiliar countries, features such as speed camera alerts, real-view navigation using augmented reality, satellite maps, and guidance through complex multiple-lane intersections can provide invaluable assistance. The maps also include sharp curve warnings and tunnel length information attractive to those who appreciate comprehensive route details, helping to drive more predictably.
Secret Tips for Everyone to Know
A fantastic tip for families and friends is the ability to share real-time routes, allowing others to view the planned route, current position, and estimated arrival time. If a driver misplaces or forgets the location of their parked car, Sygic offers photo navigation through GPS coordinates stored within the car's photos. In emergencies, travelers can share their current position and quickly locate the nearest police station, hospital, pharmacy, or car service by accessing the "Help Nearby" button in the main menu of Sygic GPS Navigation.
